As long as a movie has the Marvel named slapped on it I assure you; people will watch it. Marvel always has, and hopefully always will have mass success in what is being produced. Scheduled for release on July 17, 2015, Ant-Man like every other Marvel movie has the potential for a great movie, filled with action, adventure, and a good laugh here and there.
The pint-sized Marvel hero has been in production since 2006, the story written by Edgar Wright and Joe Cornish, although Wright left the process due to creative differences. So even though this movie has been in the works for over 7 years we still could have something to worry about. The fact that Wright has left makes matters difficult, it could make the consistency throughout the script harder, but as previously stated – when you’re dealing with Marvel, there isn’t room for mistakes, they know what needs to be done, and only the best is acceptable. I have the utmost faith in the company and I can assure you they know what they are doing. With Paul Rudd as the casting choice for Scott Lang, hopefully, just like usual Marvel has made the right choice, Rudd is most likely known for his role in Friends and Anchorman. Two highly popular productions. However, is Rudd up for donning the super shrinking suit? Hopefully yes, Marvel is always finding the best talent for their roles and with all luck nothing will change for this movie. However, the most important question must be asked – Who is Ant-Man?
Created By Stan Lee, Hank Pym first made his way into the comic world in 1962. Pym has not been the only person to take on the Ant-Man identity, he has had two successors the first and most importantly being Scott Lang, and Eric O’Grady. The film will resolve around Pym and Lang defending the Ant-Man technology. Scott Lang first meets up with Pym when his daughter , Cassie Lang becomes ill, Lang does the only thing he thinks will help – breaking into Dr. Hank Pym’s home stealing the Ant-Man uniform and shrinking gas. Only to find Dr. Erica Sondheim, in hopes to help his daughter. Sondhiem, however is being held in a hostile situation Lang rescues the doctor from the hostage situation and Cassie’s life was later saved. When returning the suit and himself to Pym, in a turn of events Pym lets Lang keep the suit – in return Lang must do one thing, use the stolen materials for good. Thus creating the “new” Ant-Man.
Realizing that the Ant-Man movie must be released for the phase three Marvel movie spectacular, as Lang most often takes on the Ant-Man alias to aid the Avengers and Iron Man; we do in fact need this movie sooner, rather than later. Although the idea of a hero who can shrink into the size of an ant while maintain the strength of a human seems silly, I assure you (With no spoilers) that the Ant-Man story will in fact be just as great and important as the other Marvel movies.
